From cricketer MS Dhoni to Mohammad Azharuddin and Meena Kumari, Bollywood is going big on biopics. Adding to the trend, Irrfan Khan has said whoever plays RD Burman in a biopic on the legendary music composer will be lucky.
Irrfan was speaking at the reality show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa for the promotions of his upcoming film Madaari. He was asked which actor will be suitable for the biopic on RD Burman, he said: “How can I say who will be suitable? But a biopic on him should definitely be made. He has had a brilliant journey. Who will be that lucky person to play him and who will be that lucky director to present the story, it is a great thing.
The 77th birth anniversary of the late composer was celebrated by his wife, legendary singer Asha Bhosle with a musical event a few days ago. Reportedly, filmmakers have been planning a biospic on him. Director-actor Farhan Akhtar had mentioned that he would like to do biopic on RD Burman.
Irfan Khan on the sets of popular TV reality show ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa’ on Tuesday where he was spotted with his regular damroo. Dressed in a traditional avatar, the actor interacted with the media about this Nishikant Kamat directorial which is based on the true story of Mumbai Metro bridge collapse that took place in 2012. He posed for the camera along with the mentors (to the contestants) of the show Mika Singh, Pritam Chakraborty, Sajid-Wajid. ‘Madaari’ is slated to release on 15th July 2016.
