One day in the life of anti-terrorism agent Jai Singh Rathod made for gripping viewing in the first season of 24 in 2013. He is back, as grim and tortured as Anil Kapoor can make him, this time to fight a bigger enemy. Kapoor has turned 24, an Indian remake of the popular American television series, into a hit franchise. There are 24 episodes, each detailing an hour in the longest day Rathod can remember.
It is based on a man, who quit the Anti-Terrorism Unit, and is a recluse and an alcoholic. He has hit rock-bottom after his wife’s death. Terrorists have warned that they will unleash a deadly virus on the nation, starting with Mumbai, if the government does not release terror mastermind Roshan Sherchan, who had been arrested by Rathod himself. Roshan’s younger brother has now asked Rathod to get his brother out.
The makers of the show recently opened up on the making of the show, and it turns out that the two had a blast while creating 24. Now, that is what work should be like. On the much-talked about kissing scene between Anil Kapoor and Surveen Chawla, the makers said that they were extremely happy with the scene, and both the actors were really professional about it. When asked how they feel about the show–the final package Rensil replied with a laugh, I can sleep peacefully now.
24 season 2 will premiere on July 23 on Colors TV.
