Theri 6th Day Collection: Tuesday Performance at Box Office

Latest Tamil movie Theri is performing well at box office than the earlier expectations. Theri is a joint venture of Vijay, Amy Jackson & Samantha, directed and written by Atlee. Featuring new faces Vignesh and Ramesh, in lead roles along with Iyshwarya Rajesh. The story of the movie is about the father & his kids in this movie Vijay playing three different roles whose desire is to taste a pizza, which audience has liked very much.

Theri is collecting reputed figures from the very first day of its release in Tamil Nadu and nearby regions. This Tamil movie has started with the amount of 8.10 crore on Friday and showed good growth on Saturday and closed at 10.10 crore. On the main weekend day i.e. Sunday, Theri has collected 12 crores and ended up its first weekend with total 30.20 crores even after having Pawan Kalyan’s Sardaar Gabbar Singh in competition.


In weekdays, movie faced usual drop of around 40% than last day. On Weekend, the box office collection of the movie was around 7.85 crore and on yesterday i.e. Monday the collection almost similar to the Monday; movie collected 4.75 crores on its 5th day. Today being its 6th day of release, little bit drop has been recorded. As per the reports received till yet, today the box office collection of the movie is expected to be around 7.72 crore. Theri is expected to gain some rise in its business in coming weekend because of positive word of mouth.

The latest movie has surpassed Vijay’s previous best of Rs. 3.01 crore made by Kaththi from 411 shows. Theri has also beaten the records of Puli, which had raked in Rs. 2.84 crore from 465 shows and SS Rajamouli’s Bahubali, which earned Rs. 1.66 crore from Tamil and Telugu versions of the film in Chennai in its opening weekend. Shah Rukh Khan’s Fan is in the second place in Chennai this weekend by earning Rs. 41.25 lakh from 159 shows. Hollywood movie The Jungle Book has collected Rs. 18.36 lakh from 87 shows in its second weekend to take its total tally to Rs. 1.66 crore.
