The Jungle Book 3rd Day Collection The Jungle Book released on April 8 and within a day it has set a record of being the second highest opener in India. It has easily surpassed Ki and Ka, Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, Ghayal Once Again, Kyaa Kool Hai Hum 3. Walt Disney’s The Jungle Book has earned over Rs 10 crore on its opening day at the box office. Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to share the box office collection of Jon Favreau’s The Jungle Book.
It was a good start for Disney’s The Jungle Book, which brings the story of a young boy straight out of an Indian jungle, with the film raking in over Rs.10 crore nett on the opening day itself in India. The English and Hindi versions of the film released on Friday, and between them brought in Rs.10.09 crore, according to a statement on behalf of the makers.
The film, with Indian-American actor Neel Sethi as Mowgli, made its way into the screens in Indian a week ahead of its release in the US. Along with Neel, the film is supported by Bill Murray, Ben Kingsley, Idris Elba, Lupita Nyong’o, Scarlett Johansson and Christopher Walken. And Bollywood stars of the likes of Irrfan Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Nana Patekar, Shefali Shah and Om Puri joined The Jungle Book gang for the Hindi version.
It is a novel story of Kipling’s classic tale of a young boy brought up in the jungle by various animals. The movie starres Mowgli in peaceful and voiceless character while love worthy Sethi finds a real life touch in the story. The other cast featuring Ben Kingsley, Idris Elba, Lupita Nyong’o, Scarlett Johansson. Giancarlo Esposito, Christopher Walken, Jon Favreau and Sam Raimi.
