Ali Abbas Zafar’s recent directorial venture Sultan is unaffectedly heading towards the mark of 300 crores on domestic box office. Despite new releases, superstar Salman Khan starrer still has enough hold over audience and adding considerable business figures to its account with every single day. Being year’s one of the most awaited movies, it has been released with enormous buzz across the globe and as expected received phenomenal response from audience.
In the opening week, Sultan did the excellent business of 229.16 crores across India with 180.36 crores of 5-days weekend and 48.80 crores of weekdays. In the second week, it witnessed usual drop and minted the amount of 48.80 crores with 34.07 crores of weekend and 14.73 crores of weekdays. Sultan is inching towards Rs. 300 crore mark at the domestic box office, but the low collections in the start of its fourth week hints that it might not be able to touch the mark. However, trade analysts are positive that Sultan will touch Rs. 300 crore mark by its fifth week run. Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, the sports drama features Salman and Anushka as wrestlers. The film also features Amit Sadh, Randeep Hooda and Kumud Mishra in the pivotal roles. Sultan, the biggest blockbuster of 2016, was released on July 6 worldwide.
Only the evening and night shows are helping it out to receive a respective sum at the big screen. The occupancy have gone down too much due to release of new movies like Kabali and then Dishoom and now the collections for the entire day on normal comes up to only 20 percent at most. Next weekend might turn a decent favor for Sultan.
