After a great success of Bajrangi Bhaijaan Salman Khan released his most anticipated movie i.e. Sultan. The movie was released on 6th July 2016 one day before the occasion of Eid. The film was a top graded movie. Media rated the movie with 4.5 stars out of 5 and from the very first day of release the film moved to the peak of box office collection. Salman Khan this movie got a tag of 2nd highest opener of year 2016 and also remarked as 2nd highest earner of Salman Khan.
Now the movie is running in its fourth week and has new Hindi offering Dishoom in opposite. On Friday it witnessed considerable drop than previous day and did the business of 0.57 crore. On Saturday, being weekend it showed little rise in its business and minted the amount of 0.98 crore. On the last day of weekend i.e. Sunday, being holiday Sultan started the day on a better note and recorded decent growth from evening shows. As per the report, it is estimated to add the amount of around 1.51 crore to its account on 28th day.
In the third week, it had superstar Rajinikanth’s Kabali in opposite but managed to rake the business of 15.84 crores including 11.09 crores of weekend and 4.75 crores of weekdays, with little higher drop than usual. After 3 weeks, total collection of Sultan was recorded as 293.80 crores on domestic box office and 154.10 crores from overseas market. With this, total 28 days collection of Sultan has become 297.27 crores* on domestic box office.
There is nothing in it for the actor as far as can be seen. He needed to overtake Aamir Khan’s Dhoom 3 to become the No. 2 film in India and that he achieved with ease, courtesy the momentum the film created in its extended opening weekend and thereafter cruised to the new record. His movie remains in that spot as far as its India collections are concerned. However, this huge achievement was soon eclipsed by another movie.
