Salman Khan’s film of this year Sultan movie opened great on box office. With the release on over more than 4352 screens in India and 1100 screens outside the country, it was the biggest release ever in history. Film received plenty of mixed reviews from movie critics, of which most of the reviews were positive. The massive dialogues were always a bonus over Salman Khan’s charm in the film. The movie created perfect opening hype on the box office to gather the potential audience.
However, the craze had somehow gone flat as compared to earlier as the film was not able to break some records. Sultan collection was not able to break the record of Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, 41 crores and 44 crores Happy New Year. The last week was also not good, as with the release of Kabali. The occupancy does effect as film somehow snatches a part of the potential audience.
Dishoom recorded little growth in its business and minted the amount of 12.02 crores across India. It was expected to take the rise of atleast 20% on Saturday but night shows didn’t contributed much well and the movie showed only 9% of jump in comparison to Friday. From UAE-GCC where its shooting has been done, the movie reported the excellent opening business of 3.63 crores on Thursday plus Friday.
On the last day of weekend i.e. Sunday being public holiday, it started the day on a better note and also recorded decent growth from after noon. As per the report, Dishoom is estimated to add the amount of around 13.15 crores* to its account. With this, its opening weekend total will become 36.22 crores* on domestic box office. So far Dishoom has come out almost good, but the performance of weekdays is crucial and will decide its final tag.
