Salman Khan starrer is once again garnering a lot of moolah at the box office. Sultan was rocking big time on its second Sunday. According to the early official figures, Sultan 12th day collection will be 15.18 crore. There were some drops in night shows. Sultan was rocking post afternoon and many houseful shows were reported across all India. Rajasthan and North India has performed very well over the second weekend.
Sultan box office collection in 12 days will be 263 crores. It has become the fourth film to cross 250 cr mark after Dhoom 3, PK and Bajrangi Bhaijaan. Hollywood release Ice Age Collision Course has once again gained momentum but not affecting Sultan collection especially, at multiplexes where the family audience is still opting for Salman starrer. There is still one more open week (Madaari & Kabali are unlikely to affect much in North) as Great Grand Masti was preponed to 15th which actually backfired as film turned out to be a disaster.
In weekdays, it witnessed almost 75% of drop than weekend and minted the amount of 48.80 crores with 15.54 crores of Monday, 12.92 crores of Tuesday, 10.82 crores of Wednesday and 9.52 crores of Thursday. After a week, Sultan total collection was recorded as 229.16 crores nett and 320.82 crores gross with 117.15 crores from overseas market.
On the last day of the weekend i.e. Sunday, being holiday Yash Raj Films’ this latest venture has reported higher occupancy than Saturday and added the amount of around 15.18 crores to its account. With this, its domestic total till second weekend has become 263.23 crores. So far, Sultan has surpassed the lifetime total of many biggies and now at the fourth position among the top highest grossing movies of all time in Bollywood after PK, Bajrangi Bhaijaan & Dhoom 3. If the movie maintains the same pace then till the end of its second week, it will also surpass Dhoom 3 (284.27 crores).
