Ajay Devgn’s Shivaay (Shivay) fared well at the worldwide box office on Tuesday and its global box office collection has inched closer to the mark of Rs 100 crore in five days. Amidst huge hype and promotion, Shivaay was released in over 3,000 screens across the globe on October 28. Despite clashing with Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, the movie had a decent opening and collected Rs 10.24 crore nett at the Indian box office on the first day.
The opening week witnessed a slow pace but the weekdays turned out to be a boon for the movie. Monday saw a huge round of people making queue for the tickets. Not only in India but several parts of overseas countries witnessed a great increase in the business with audiences catching up in box office windows. Apart from Monday collection, other two days i.e. 5th and 6th days of the total movie collection. Hence, Shivaay worldwide box office collection on 5/6th days has generated revenue of Rs. 22.71 crores.
The movie needs Rs 14 crore gross to surpass the mark of Rs 100 crore gross in the global market. The film is set to collect this amount and cross the mark by the end of its opening week, according to experts from the industry. As per report, Wednesday has resulted out in almost similar response for the movie and it has added 7.22 crores* to its account. Till the end of its 6th day, total collection of Shivaay is recorded as 64.18 crores*.
Ajay Devgn’s latest venture is doing pretty well at the box office despite facing shallow criticism and less marketing, the word-of-mouth has done wonders. Audiences are preferring watching the film as compared to ADHM, which is multi-starrer big banner film. The box office collection in a worldwide basis is the only way to show the tremendous growth in Shivaay’s business.
