Amitabh Bachchan-starrer Pink is likely to witness a great opening at the Indian as well as overseas box office on Friday, Sept. 16. The movie, also starring Tapsee Pannu, is expected to beat the opening day Indian box office collection record of Big B’s Wazir, which also starred Farhan Akhtar.
While Wazir had collected Rs. 5.57 crore in the domestic market on its first day, going by the hype around Pink, it seems to have the potential to outdo the opening day box office collection of Wazir. To be released in over 1,300 screens, Pink is expected to get a 15-20% occupancy on its opening day. The film is likely to collect a little over Rs. 6 crore on its opening day.
Directed by Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury and produced by Soojit Sircar, Pink is a courtroom drama-thriller and is the story of three independent girls who get into trouble during a party. Senior Bachchan plays the role of a lawyer, while others who play the key role in the film are Tapsee Pannu, Kirti Kulhari, Andrea Tariang, Piyush Mishra, Angad Bedi and Dhritiman Chatterjee.
Pink is a compelling film which exposes hypocrisies and double standards against women in our society. With powerful performances from the starcast, the film leaves you shocked, stunned and speechless. At the Box Office, it will be patronised by the multiplex audiences and the positive word of mouth will translate into healthy footfalls for the movie. Don’t miss this one as it hammers home a very powerful message.
