Munthirivallial Thalirkkumbol Second Day Collection

After doing two back-to-back thrilling and action-based films, Oppam and Pulimurgan, Mohanlal has come out with an extraordinary story of an ordinary family. His new film Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol, which is loosely based on the Malayalam short story Pranayopanishad, looks like a drag for the first 30 minutes. You may also start worrying that the film is likely to put you to sleep by narrating the complex political situation of a small town in Kerala.

The movie, which marks the reunion of Mohanlal and Meena after the blockbuster Drishyam, is said to highlight the importance of familial bond. Being a Jibu Jacob directorial, audience can expect it to be a feel good entertainer like the filmmaker’s debut movie Vellimoonga. The teaser, trailer and songs of the Mohanlal starrer have already impressed the audience and are hits on social media. The natural performance and impressive plot are the main highlights of Munthirivallilal Thalirkkumbol.

The director also establishes that there is only so much that parents can do to keep their children from taking risky decisions after they come of age. And it is up to Gini to decide what to do with her life. However, the film has a happy ending and also an important message that if the children pick a wrong person to love, it is maybe because their elders failed to show them how real love looks and feels like.

The tune arrangements, particularly Punnamadakkayal are add up to visual treats. Bijibal has made the foundation score and two tunes (Marivillu and Orupuzhayarikil) for the film. The other two melodies (Punnamadakayal and Athimarakombile) are formed by M Jayachandran. On a whole, the film appears to families and ends as a genuine and honest family entertainer.
