While the estimated collections of Rustom on Day 1 look quite impressive, the figures of Hrithik Rshan’s Mohenjo Daro aren’t very encouraging. According to distributor Akshaye Rathi, though the film has gathered more screens but the reaction of the audience after watching the film doesn’t look encouraging. Although Mohenjo Daro has managed to collect around Rs 9 to 10 crore by the end of day 1, Trade experts expect the figure to decline in the coming days.
Rathi also informed that Mohenjo Daro needs to cross the Rs 140 crore mark to be declared a hit which, going by the audience reviews, is highly unlikely to happen. The coming weekend will be very crucial for the film as it will decide its fate at the Box Office. The talkie started with a poor occupancy of 25 percent on an average for the morning shows. Later on, it increased as the day progressed from noon to evening time. Single screens suffered while multiplexes got a stronger grip.
The first week for the both the films will see some holidays. So, we can expect that the figure for Mohenjo Daro opening box office collection will increase by a considerable amount. However, the film will be able to get the maximum benefit of these holidays even it gets the good word of mouth. There is still hope for it to do well.
Saturday and Sunday, the two upcoming days, i.e., Mohenjo Daro first weekend collection will decide its fate. Let’s see how much it earns in its entire lifetime run. Rustom seems to have got better of it because of its better promos and star power.
