Mohenjo Daro may have become the sixth highest opener of 2016 at the box office but the Hrithik Roshan film is still being described as below par. Directed by Ashutosh Gowariker, the period drama set in the Indus Valley Civilisation opened to largely unfavourable reviews. The period drama starring the Greek god of Bollywood has failed to impress in terms of box-office collections and has come second to Akshay Kumar starrer Rustom which has surpasses it substantially in terms of footfall in the theatres.
Film Mohenjo Daro is giving tough competition to Rustom film which released in theaters on the same day. However, both films having a good story, and so many interesting things to attract an audience. Both films are making decent collections at box office. Mohenjo Daro film made by the makers of Lagaan and Jodha Akbar, and Rustom made by Bollywood’s best combination Neeraj Pandey and Akshay Kumar. Subsequently, both films making proper collections at box office.
With a very disappointing starting week in terms of box office collection, Mohenjo Daro is playing second fiddle to the comparatively more preferred and more realistic Rustom and has lacked it’s potential estimate at the box office by a great deal. A background score by A.R Rahman and a stellar performance by Kabir Bedi has not been enough to rope in the audience and the lack of footfall will definitely be an issue of interest which director Ashutosh Gowarikar will be compelled to look into.
