The recent release Mohenjo Daro has failed to impress the audience which was expected by the makers of the film. The movie was all about the Mohenjo Daro city of Indus Valley Civilization. As Mohenjo Daro is the first film which depicts the beauty of the Indus Valley Civilization it was expected that it will capture a huge business report but because of the tough competition of the Rustom of Akshay Kumar, it’s failed to bang the box office.
Before the release, Mohenjo Daro was supposed to give heavy competition to the adjacent release Akshay Kumar’s Rustom. But in front of Akshay’s winning stride, Hrithik starrer received only disappointment. With its satellite and music rights, makers recovered much of its budget but at box office it marked as flop.
The chemistry between Pooja and Hrithik was the only reason of this much of buzz of the film. The movie showed the lifestyle of that era of the people of Mohenjo Daro city. The first half of the film was not that much good but the second half of the film is up to the mark and the climax end with a bang on the performance of Hrithik and Pooja. Mohenjo Daro captured a good response from the overseas audience as compared to the domestic box office. After spending 10 days at the overseas box office it collected the box office collection of 26.20 Cr.
On the last day of week i.e. Thursday, it received slight higher response due to holiday on account of Krishna Janmashtami and collected the amount of 0.55 crore*. With this, total 2 weeks collection of Mohenjo Daro has become 57.16 crores* from Indian screens. New Hindi movie of this week A Flying Jatt has already released on Thursday i.e. August 25 and getting decent response on box office. So it won’t be easy for the Hrithik starrer to survive in the third week
