Koditta Idangalai Niruppuga First Day Collection
Radhakrishnan Parthiban latest directorial Koditta Idangalai Nirappuga (KIN), produced by Parthiban himself under his own banner Bioscope Film Framers has released today. Parthiban movies will always be distinctive in nature, won’t reflect the usual commercial liners. He has made some wonderful movies in the past, but this time he has failed to deliver something different, his signature style of movies, and pitched into routine things.
Koditta Idangalai Nirappuga has created much hype and expectation through Parthipan’s trademark promotion and marketing strategy. KIN is touted as comedy thriller, though it’s a family drama with romance, comedy and twists here and there. But it’s not an unusual story as the team says and audiences have seen several movies with similar pattern.
If you would ask me, whether the film has Parthipan’s trademark storytelling, I would say yes, but that doesn’t will hold the audience tight as the story is very thin and predicable. Parthipan believed on a major twist that wasn’t revealed anywhere even in the trailer, but it didn’t help the movie as audiences are more smart than ever.
Kevin (Shantanu) is an Rich NRI on a visit to India from Australia to finish a business deal and his call taxi driver Rangarajan (Parthiban) convinces him to stay in a guesthouse ifor which he is also a caretaker and his wife Mohini (Parvathi Nair) works as a maid. Now the real story starts, Kevin falls for young Mohini(Parvathi Nair). The confusion around their affair forms the crux of the story.
