As the long wait comes to an end, the much-awaited Karthi-starrer Kashmora, a mega budget period drama, will hit the screens a day before the Diwali festival. The movie completed its censor formalities on Thursday, and the makers have officially announced the release date. The film has been given U/A certificate from the Censor board and is all set for a worldwide release on October 28 in both Tamil and Telugu.
The film’s Tamil theatrical distribution rights have been acquired by Sri Thenandal Films while the Telugu rights of the film were acquired by PVP Cinema, who earlier produced Karthi’s last Telugu film Oppiri, Thozha in Tamil. It is touted to be the costliest film in Karthi’s career and is set to be the first Indian horror movie to cross a budget of Rs 60 crores. Also starring Nayanthara and Sridivya as female leads, Vivekh plays an important character in the film.
Kashmora in which Karthi plays triple roles is directed by Gokul of Idharku Dhaaney Aasaipattai Balakumara fame. Nayanthara and Sri Divya play the two heroines while Jangiri Madhumitha plays Karthi’s sister and Vivek for the first time in his career is doing the role of the father of the hero. Santhosh Narayanan scores the music and the film is produced by S R Prabhu under the banner Dream Warriors Pictures.
