Rajinikanth’s Kabali has broken records and brought in big bucks with its day 1 box office collections. The movie, also starring Radhika Apte and Dhansika, was a big draw on the BO as its shows started even before dawn on Friday. People were lining up in front of theatres for the 5am shows.
Kabali released in more than 12,000 screens across India, as well as in the UK and Malaysia, which have a sizeable Tamil-speaking population. The first day booking across south India was a sold out and no ticket was to be had for love or money. The film has reportedly earned Rs 200 crore already with the sale of satellite rights etc.
The movie Kabali has a strong star cast with a superb storyline based upon real life don blessed to feed millions of impoverished people of the locality. The audience has been eagerly waiting for Rajini’s next project as it took a long time to hit theatres. Another point that it has raised its bar because of Bollywood recent success maker Radhika Apte who is essaying the role of Rajini’s spouse.

Rajini Sir’s superhit movie has been released in U.S., U.A.E., Middle East, Malaysia, U.K., France, etc. US and UAE have taken care of 450 and 90 screens respectively. Attracting audiences in masses, the multiplexes are jam-packed even in abroad. Kabali first day box office collection in overseas has generated revenue of 15 to 17 crores INR.
