Kabali was mostly criticized by the film critics after one week but its collection is the latest example that a masala entertainer is no more in awe of good reviews. The Rajinikanth’s starrer Kabali opened with good buzz but nothing extraordinary came at fore at box office except in the South circuits, obviously Rajinikanth’s fan following being a major reason there.
In North circuits and at international market the flick isn’t performing well now. Too huge hypes and the postponement of its release date affected its business to an extent. Also, south films produced in India haven’t found whole-hearted mandate from the audience in north thus far so it is also a reason behind its stagnant speed. In total 16 days of its journey this film has outperformed and is running as most successful release from past 15 days and this month in south. Kabali made a total collection of approx. 2.50 Crores* by the end of the day today all over India and worldwide.
In the opening week, Pa. Ranjith’s directorial this crime action movie did the business of 149 crores with 110 crores of weekend and 39 crores of weekdays which included 121 crores of south and 28 crores of north. Then in the second week, it showed usual drop in its business graph and did the business of total 41.25 crores with 29 crores of weekend and 12.25 crores of weekdays.
After 2 weeks, total collection of Kabali was recorded as 190.25 crores net across India including Tamil, Telugu and Hindi versions. Now the movie has entered in the third weekend and recorded almost decent response on its third Friday. With more than 30% of drop than previous day, it added the amount of 1.50 crore* to its account. Soon it will be in 200 crores club on domestic box office.
