Energetic star Ram’s latest offering Hyper released across the world on September 30. Released amidst high expectations, Hyper didn’t quiet satisfy the thirst of movie goers, as per the word of mouth on first day.
Released across the two Telugu states in a grand manner, Hyper is believed to have collected around Rs 4 crore share. This is the biggest opening in Ram’s career. Here are the early estimates: Nizam & Ceded – 2-2.5 Cr, Uttarandhra – 37 lakhs, Krishna – 20 lakhs, East – 25 lakhs & Nellore – 11.6 lakhs (share). The actual figures will be published shortly.
In the overseas, the action entertainer largely failed as it could collect only $16,208 from 38 locations through premieres. Because of the content delay, premiers were possible only at limited screens. The overseas audiences have once again displayed their aversion towards mass masala films, believing Hyper was one. Makers however claim the film is based on family emotions and has a social message.
Despite the entertaining first half, the predictable and over-the-top second half played the spoilsport for Hyper. The below par reviews might not help for the cause of Hyper especially when a fleet of films are gearing up for release next week. How the film performs over the weekend will be crucial.
