Half Mentlu (Kannada) First Day Collection- Kerala, Bangalore Box Office Update

Half Mentlu Movie Box Office Update

After big buzz in media and so many hypes among the audience, one of the awaited Kannada movies Half Mentlu has finally hit the box office screens today. Audience was waiting a long time for this film getting release and now when the day has finally came, audience showed up huge interest in the film and everyone was outside the theatres and cinema halls today to watch this movie. Though film has not made a record break opening than the recent hits but still lit ahs done excellent in its own way today.

Overall occupancy of the film was fantastic today and most of the shows were seen houseful in the regions of Kannada films. Film made greater business in south India and recorded a total first day income of around 1.8 Crores*, which is a very positive amount. Now the film is set to face its first weekend and next two days will be very profitable for it as it is the weekend time. There were other good releases like today Ki And Ka but they haven’t affected collection of Half Mentlu much in its dominated regions, on the contrary; film has proved to be a good competitor for Ki And Ka in south India.

The story of Half Mentlu is 100% real. It is based on a real incident that took place back in 2010. I observed what happened with a particular person for 3-4 months. I thought that he was an interesting character and wanted my first film to be based on him. The film explores the emotions in various kinds of love, such as a mother’s love, the love towards a girl, love in friendship, etc.

Akshmi Dinesh has also spilled the beans on the hyped title of the movie. He said, There is a lot of curiosity around the name of the movie. People in the movie think that Sandeepa’s character is Half mental, so the movie’s title is actually from the audience’s perspective. It is only in the climax that people will get to know if he really is Half Mental or not. The film also stars Sonu Gowda in a prominent role. But certainly it happened. While talking about how he landed into the world of films, Dinesh also revealed that he is all excited for his directorial debut Half Mentlu, whose story is 100% real.
