Flipkart has announced that it will be hosting its annual festive Big Billion Day Sale this year from October 2 to October 6. This year the Indian e-commerce company will be bringing in discounts in over 80 categories of products, and offers like no-cost EMIs and product exchange schemes. Also, the sale will include special discounts in collaboration with particular banks, users of which will get additional discounts.
Flipkart had hosted its first Big Billion Day sale two years ago, wherein in just 10 hours it had managed to garner sales totaling $100 million. The last year’s Big Billion Day sale was exclusive to Flipkart’s app users. Flipkart also says customers can expect a stellar product line along with new launches and exclusive brand partnerships, across categories with some of the best deals.
Rival Amazon, meanwhile, is also going to compete with Flipkart’s Big Billion Day Sale with its Great Indian Festival from October 1 to October 5. Like Flipkart, Amazon is too going to offer some big discounts and schemes on a wide range of products. It will be an intense battle between the two e-commerce giants, but for customers it will be a win-win situation.
Other than its notable partnership with Apple, Flipkart achieved another milestone this week. The Indian e-commerce platform announced that it now has over a 100 million registered users. In March, the e-commerce site had crossed 75 million registered users, and in just six months it has added another 25 million.
