Fan is the second biggest earner in India and the highest grosser at the overseas box office. In India, Maneesh Sharma’s directorial film earned an income of around Rs. 118.50 crore gross (Rs. 82.95 crore net), while from the overseas box office it accumulated Rs. 64.96 crore ($ 9.780 million). The two weeks domestic and overseas income takes the worldwide earnings to Rs. 183.46 crore. In its two weeks run, the film has not performed well as compared to Shah Rukh’s previous film, but it still managed to become the second highest grosser of 2016.
In its opening week, it reported overall good and minted the amount of total 71.50 cr, that includes 52.35 cr of weekend and 19.15 cr of weekdays. In its second week, it witnessed huge drop and raked the business of 11.45 cr including only 7.75 cr of weekend and 3.70 cr of weekdays. After the two weeks, total collection of Fan was recorded as 82.95 cr on domestic and 64.96 cr on overseas box office.
Now YRF’s this latest venture is running in the third week and as expected getting very low occupancy in theaters because latest release Baaghi is getting well. On Friday it received more drop than Thursday and minted the amount of 0.45 cr. On the next day i.e. Saturday being weekend the day resulted out in little higher and added the amount of 0.51 cr to its account. On Sunday, the movie is expected to get more and as per estimation it would collect 0.95 – 0.97 crore* as its 17th day collection.
The business it has done til yet, is only because of the stardom of Shahrukh and this fact can not be denied. Due to initial buzz, Fan started on a good note but got failed to maintain its pace for long. Despite positive reviews by critics and heavy promotions, it has not achieved reputed height. At the end of 17th day, its total box office collection is recorded as 84.53 cr* from Indian screens.
