Surender Reddy then came up with the Telugu remake Dhruva starring the well known Telugu actor Ram Charan who played the serious role of a cop works on the side of justice and works against his antagonist played by Arvind Swami. The movie has managed to gain a good revenue and it can be said that this is a successful remake of the hit original as the director did not take the risk of making many changes in the movie.
The Telugu movie has collected Rs 49.4 crore with a distributors’ share of Rs 33.79 at the Andhra and Telangana box office. Dhruva has raked in Rs 11 crore in Karnataka (distributors’ share: Rs 6.22 crore) and Rs 3 crore from rest of India (distributors’ share: Rs 1.15 crore). In the US, the film has minted Rs 8.35 crore (distributors’ share: Rs 4.59 crore) and Rs 2.75 crore (distributors’ share: Rs 1.40 crore) in other parts of the world.
The movie Dhruva has the right dose of action, thrill and comedy and this perfect proportion has led to the 12th-day box office collection of Dhruva to settle at 1.17 crores. Ram Charans presence in the movie along with his command over the action scenes makes him bag a lot of positive review from the audience and critics alike. Dhruva total collection till now shows that the movie has lived up to the high benchmark set by the original Tamil version.
Dhruva 12th day box office collection in the overseas stood at 24 lakhs, due to the fact that the weekdays the rush of the audience is much lesser in comparison to the weekends. The movie has the perfect presentation of the good vs evil factor where the cat and mouse chase of Arvind Swami and ram Charan got the attention of the audience apart from the acting presence of the entire cast who did justice to the plot and the songs that made us swoon to its tune.
