Nitesh Tiwari’s directorial sports biopic Dangal is running in its second week and still has very strong hold over audience across the country as well as overseas. Being year’s highly awaited, this Aamir Khan starrer was released with enormous buzz among fans and as expected impressed everyone with its inspiring content. The movie has got overwhelmed response from viewers and received super positive reviews from critics as well as moviegoers.
The film opened to 55% occupancy in the morning shows. It witnessed a jump of around 15% compared to yesterday. The morning shows occupancy on second Saturday is same as opening day. Like the first 8 days, the movie remained solid in North India. The movie has tax-free status in some states of North India which is also boosting collections. The box office collection in the evening and night shows are expected to be all time high as tomorrow is a holiday. All we can say is that the movie is heading towards another huge day at the Box Office.
Major critics platforms like Rotten Tomatoes, IMDb, BookMyShow, etc have given favourable ratings henceforth closing at 9.2 out of 10 (IMDb), 83% (Rotten Tomatoes) and that too based on 7.3 stars out of 10 from the reviewers from across the globe. Other critic platforms have given a score of 8.2 out of 10 with an approval of 95% from the reviewers. So, with the success of Dangal, it can be estimated that the 10th day box office collection in overseas has settled in at Rs. 3.86 crores approximately.
2nd weekend, Nitesh Tiwari’s directorial recorded minimal drop than the previous day and raked the business of 18.59 crore, with which it has surpassed the lifetime total of Aamir’s 3 Idiots (). On the next day i.e. 2nd Saturday being new year eve, Dangal reported impressive growth in its occupancy and estimated to collect the amount of 25 crores* to make 9 days total collection as 241.13 crores*. From international market too, Aamir’s recent offering received quite excellent response and done the business of 122.59 crores from there till Friday.
