Now a biopic on his life story has been made and the movie has been titled as Azhar. Emraan Hashmi stepped into the shoes of the cricketer and Tony D’Souza directed the azhar Movie.
Emraan Hashmi, Prachi Desai and Nargis Fakhri played the lead roles in the movie. Emraan practised cricket for over six months to suit the body language under the supervision of Azharuddin. The movie has been made on a budget of Rs 50 crores and it has been under shoot for over 8 months. The theatrical trailer impressed the audience big time which raised the expectations on the film. The whole country has been eagerly waiting to see the life story of Mohammad Azharuddin on screen and to know about the life secrets of the cricketer.
The previous releases like The Jungle Book, Baaghi & Captain America Civil War, still have good hold over audience and will definitely hamper the collection of Azhar if its content doesn’t clicked. As per prediction report compiled on the basis of pre-release response and pre-booking stats, this movie can rake the business of around 8-9 cr on its opening day. Only good word of mouth can lead it to enter in the list of year’s successful movies.
Azhar collected Rs 9.5 crores across the country on its first day and the overseas openings too have been completely strong. Azhar made Rs 3.8 crores on its first day across the international circles. The movie made Rs 13.3 crores on its first day all over the world. Balaji Motion Pictures produced the movie in association with Sony Pictures.
