Ae Dil Hai Mushkil had collected plenty of applauds from all over the India. The film had suffered a major setback on Diwali day. Despite having festival on the day, because of month end, it suffered big. The movie was not even able to beat the other films released during the past years on Diwali day. Many of the big releases had done far better minting out the opportunity but ADHM Collection was a big disappointment.
Moreover, its also a fact that after few days of release, frequent actual reviews of the movie starts floating in. Because of the reviews and serve criticism of Ranbir Kapoor going towards his consecutive 5th failure, audience avoided watching the film in theaters. ADHM Collection had been dropped a big during the past three days and no positive sign could be seen on Monday too, when most of the people are on holiday for Govardhan puja celebrations.
On Saturday, the movie remained strong and raked the business of 13.10 crores with almost similar occupancy. Then on the last day of weekend i.e. Sunday, it witnessed lesser footfall and minted the amount of 9.20 crores. With this, the opening weekend total collection of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil was recorded as 35.60 crores on domestic box office and 41.05 crores from international market.
On the opening day, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil had recorded terrific occupancy of 40-45% across India in opposite to Ajay Devgn’s much awaited Shivaay. With positive response of audience as well as critics, it did the opening business of 13.30 crores and emerged as sixth highest opener of the year so far.
